Sophie Polidoro

Sophie Polidoro is pursuing a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in History and Philosophy of Science at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Her research spans biomechanics, materials science, and aerospace engineering, with projects ranging from biocompatible lung tissue modeling to deployable space structures. She has conducted research at NASA Ames, NASA Johnson Space Center, the Shapiro Lab, and the Yang Research Group. In addition to research, she has served as a Teaching Assistant for Caltech's ME11abc Thermal Sciences and ME/EE/EST 117 Energy Technology and Policy courses.
